Things I love these days!

Okay so a few things that I really love these days.

Ruby Woo: A red lipstick from MAC. The only down fall: it's matte and can be drying.
Sally Hansen Wet Shine: a top coat that dries in 60 secs. I love this stuff!
A Profusion Shadow Palette: Got this thing from Ross Dress for less. It has great shimmer shadows, if shimmer is your thing, and I only payed 5 bucks!
Rimmel lipstick in Birthday Suit. a brown nude that can be worn everyday. Gotta love that!
Rimmel lipstick in Airy Fairy. a pink nude. really like it too!

Update!

Okay, so I have been very busy lately, but my summer vacation is coming to a close. I have bought a few things recently...I will post reviews soon. I'm trying to see how much I really like or don't like them.
Jesse's Girl
A couple MAC products

On another note. I was attempting to stretch my perm for as long as I could. I could only go two months. My beautician was so angry. My hair just gets too thick on the root for stretching, I think. I have been exercising a whole lot this summer too, so that hasn't helped the situation.

Talk to you all later! Bye!

LOTD: Turquoise & Blue

Okay so this a pretty simple look that I did today using Loreal Hip in Showy and a Maybelline quad in Mocha Motion.

Newbies and LOTD!

LOTD: Bright Purple, Turquoise, Black
I used my often used Urban Decay Palette for this look: The purple is Ransom, The blue is Peace, the black is Zero, and I highlighted with Maybelline concealer in Dark which is really light.

Okay, so it's been like forever, but I have bought some new products over the last month and a half and I will share what I think of these products.

Clinique Perfectly Real Compact Makeup: Okay, I really like this make up. It's a powder foundation, which is great for me in hot weather, but I do get shiny with this although it's supposed to keep down shine. 4 out of 5

MAC Prep & Prime Lash: This stuff is great if you have a few extra minutes. It thickens your lashes and preps them for mascara. It makes them thick and luscious.... special occasions only!
5 out of 5

Maybelline Pulse Perfection: Okay this is the vibrating mascara which everyone is raving about right now...it's good, but often I feel like it's fussy...like um...if I'm in a hurry, I don't want to be bothered. 3 out of 5

Covergirl TRU Conceal 6: This is just a basic concealer. I needed one so, I picked this one up. Not the best that I have seen, but not the worst either. It is thin to me, but it does the job, especially under the eyes. 3 out of 5

Too Faced Shadow Insurance: Keeps shadow on forever! I love this stuff...much better than UDPP. Just a bit goes a longggggggggggggggg way. Loving this stuff! Great packaging and all around great product. 5 out of 5

Wet N Wild Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette Sand Castle: This palette is okay...the shadows are too flaky though and too glittery...If you are going to get this shadow, you should be good at packing on shadow...and you can't mind fall out. I'm still trying to work with it though.
3 out of 5 for now

MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot: This one is a winner for me as a base under eyeshadow.... It is really pale so the eyeshadow color comes through so vividly. I like this stuff! 5 out of 5.

Black Radiance Perfect Blend Mineral Foundation: So not a winner. I was left very ashy looking when I use this foundation. I said that I was going to try it again thought before I made a final decision. 2 out of 5

Loreal Voluminous Mascara, Cetaphil Face Soap, Diet Journey

Okay, so I recently stepped outside of my box and picked up a different mascara. You all know that I am a Maybelline Mascara girl....Anywho...I picked up the Loreal Voluminous. LOVE IT!!!! It really gives the lashes volume and UMPHH! yep i said it UMPHH! LOL. I really like this mascara. So if you are shopping for a new mascara give it a try!

I also picked up the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar, just to try something different. I'd been using neutrogena for years and years, but when I moved to a different city with different water, the formula plus the water was just too drying. I have to say that the Cetaphil is a very gentle formula. It's nice to the face! lol I know that it does not show feelings, just my way of putting it! haha! It doesn't leave the face dry and feeling like it has a layer of scum on it. Anywho...I'm pleased with it.

Now...my weight loss. I am doing okay. I am exercising consistently. I really like exercising once I get started. Yesterday, I did Taebo, which I really like. My only problem is that I get easily bored with the same thing over time. So, I'm looking for some new dvd's. So, i have lost about 2 pounds since I started. I know that's not a lot, but I am also gaining muscle, which I always do first when I start working out. Then, later the fat starts to fall off. Honestly, I am pleased because I can already see the toning that is taking place so I am cool....
Talk to you all soon! BYE!

Green and Brown look

Okay so I did a look tonight... I was inspired by Makeup Geek's last video on YouTube which was inspired by the Mint 3 Musketeers (yes the candy!)...check her out. Anyway it was with greens and browns and I used very inexpensive brands that still worked very well. I used Maybelline's Ivy League which consists of a light green, a darker green and very pretty highlight in a vanilla looking color. In the outer V I used Prestige Coffee Bean which is dark brown. Both of these are drugstore brands so once again they don't cost a lot.... So when you get a chance, take out those browns and greens and try them out!
Diet update!!
Okay, exercising was great today... I did 35 minutes on the elliptical machine, some dumbbell exercises, and some ab exercises. I finished up with some stretches and it was great! Once again, I felt like I had accomplished something. I usually don't make it into Curves on the weekends so...I use my elliptical machine which you can see in one or two of the posted pics. With the help of the Lord I will lose these 15 pounds this summer. I went a little beyond my recommended calorie intake, which has been my problem lately, but I did get my water in today. On Monday I hope to post how much I have lost over the week. Wish me Luck!!! I will probably talk to you all Monday.

3rd day update!

Hi EVERYONE!!!! What's going on....nothing much here...catching up on my beauty blogs and YouTube beauty videos. As for the diet...what can I say...it's going pretty well....not excellent...just pretty well. I am exercising consistently!!!! and trying to get my 64 oz. of water in. Right now, I'm sitting with a mud masque on. It firms the face and removes impurities. I cleaned and exfoliated before. When I finish I will apply moisturizer. I think I have a new color combo love....hot pink and chocolate. Just saw it on a rug...It looked fabulous!!!! Anywho...I hope that everyone is enjoying their Saturday.... Talk to you all LATA!!! Day 1!

My first day went very well. I stayed within my calorie target. I exercised. I LOVE CURVES now that I am back into my routine. Those 30 minutes does a body good: cardio and weights all in 30 min. It's great! However, I did not get all of my water in today. I will do better tomorrow. I feel good because I have made it through day 1! Praise God!

Losing the weight! It's really up to me now!

Okay, I'm up cause my son is not feeling so well. I think that the sudden change from warm to cold weather is bothering him and aggravating his asthma. Anywho, while I was up I was reading up on my weight loss tips that my sorority sister sent me. Thanks Tiaisha! I really don't have a reason not to do well. I really just need to persevere; Tiaisha has provided me with all of the info and even a meal plan. Today is my day to start. Trust me I will keep you all posted. At 9:00, I will be hitting up Curves and I am going to weigh in, which I haven't done in forever. I think that I've become too content with where I am. So, it's been inching back up on me. Anywho, I will make a post tonight. Wish me luck!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Hey Everyone!
Okay so dieting is NOT going well right now....NOT AT ALL! However, I have been going to Curves since Monday. My soror sent me some weight loss tips too. So, my goal is to start tomorrow! I just feel hungry all the time! Pray for meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRAIDS, WEIGHT LOSS

Okay everyone...so I got my hair braided. I really like the braids, but hate the amount of time that it took. It took 10 hours! Can you say "Too long!"...."Too long!" Anywho...I don't know that I'll do it again. I love the convenience of having them though. I haven't bought any new products lately, but I thought I would just give you all an update on me. I've had my braids for close to a month. I don't know how long I will keep them. They've already grown out quite a bit. Hmmm....what else is going on with me...Oh! I am trying to lose some weight this summer....probably about 15 pounds. I am cranking up my Curves routine...BTW I really like Curves so if anyone is thinking about joining, give it a try. So, I am attempting to do about 1200 calories a day, 40 g fat, 90 g carbs, and 135 g of protein. I don't take in enough protein. Wish me luck! Talk to you all lata! BYE!

Carol's Daughter and Paul Mitchell Strength

Okay there are two products that I really love right now. 1. Carol's Daughter Almond Cookie Shea Souflee and Paul Mitchell's Strength. Both of these get a 5 out of 5. The Shea Souflee feels so good...it's not oily but very moisturizing. LOVE IT! As for the Paul Mitchell Strength, I got color in my hair not long ago so I needed to strengthen my hair. Paul Mitchell's Strength did just that. I love this product. It is great! My hair felt like silk after using it, but was still strengthened. I was so pleased. I am also really enjoying the Neutrogena Wave. It really does make your skin feel softer and smoother after using. So, I really like it.

Update...

Hi everyone,
I haven't done a whole lot of posting lately...I've been really busy. Anywho I bought a couple new products that I'm still trying out. I purchased the Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage thickening shampoo and conditioner. I will try it a few more times before I do a review. Hmmmm....what else is there to tell you all...I haven't bought cosmetics in a while. I know right...no new eyeshadows. I told myself no more for a while...I mean I have every possible color you could think of...I know...sad... I've been thinking of getting my hair braided but not sure yet...I need to give my own hair a break. So that is one of the ways that I usually go about doing it. I dunno. We'll see.

PINK and GREEN look

Maybelline, HIP, and MAC's Shroom

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Okay...so it's been a while since I have been able to sit down and blog. I have been really busy through the week and I haven't really bought much. I purchased a couple of lipglosses: RIMMEL's Eastend Snob and I LOVE IT! and Wet N'Wild' "lipglass". Of course it's not lip glass but it has the same thick shiny consistency of MAC's lipglass. I really like it too. Both of these can be purchased at "Wally World" (or your nearest drug store)!

On another note, I cowashed my hair with my Pantene Beautiful Lengths this morning and it turned out GOOD! I recently got my hair colored brown with a few highlights in the front that I love. My stylist did a good job. She used foils. I am really enjoying them, but I know that I have to give my hair special attention because of the color. So, I've been trying to do good by it. Anywhooo... just a little bit of what I've been up too...I'm going to check out the Sugar Sweet line at MAC, it just looks and sounds so girlie so you know I am loving that! Oh and ULTA has buy one get one free on 3 lines of cosmetics right now...I think it's their brand (ULTA), Maybelline, and L'oreal or Revlon (I always get those confused!) and they have the $3.50 off a $10 purchase coupon on line...so check that out.

Talk to y'all lata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BYE!

TLC for hair, Colossal vs. Lashblast

So, I have been thinking to do this comparison review for a moment and had not done it yet, but I think that a lot of people are "sleeping" on the Colossal Mascara from Maybelline. I have been a huge fan of Maybelline's Mascara for a while, but I have been using the Covergirl Lashblast too in recent months just because so many people were saying how they couldn't live without it, blah, blah, blah. My honest opinion is that Lashblast is okay, but just that, OK. It doesn't have a WOW factor or anything. It seems just like a regular mascara to me. If you are looking for a thickening formula, Colossal is the one. It yields thick, luscious lashes; I love black, voluminous lashes; I think that they are gorgeous. So, if that is what you are looking for try Colossal, it's the best. I've been using it for a long time and I am definitely LOVING IT!

Okay, so as some of you know I am making more of an effort to take better care of my hair so I bought a few new products recently. I'm not sure how well I like all of them yet; however, I will post them when I can judge them better. However, I have been pre-pooing for two weeks now and I really like the way my hair feels afterwards. Pre-pooing is preparing your hair for a wash by putting your favorite oils and a conditioner on your hair and letting it sit for a while (at least 45 min to overnight). I have also started co-washing in the middle of the week instead of shampooing just because I know that shampoo too many times during the week does more harm than good. This past week I used the VO5 Strawberry Milk Conditioner (I think that is the correct name). I also got a new satin scarf that I love. It has a soft side for your hair and a smooth side for the outside so that it doesn't slide off of your hair. It glides smoothly over the pillow and doesn't come off.

bioInfusion Olive Oil & EOTD

ALL UD: HONEY, PEACE, ZERO, SHAG

I recently purchased bioInfusion Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion. It was about $7 at Walgreens. I was interested because of the great ingredients and another blogger was raving about it. Some of the ingredients include soybean oil, coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, oat protein, carrot and sunflower extract, just to name a few. If you are looking for something light, that won't weigh your hair down, this product is great! All it takes is a dime size amount and you are good to go, not to mention all of the great ingredients listed above! I am definitely liking this product. It gets a 4.5 out of 5.

Co washing, exercise, L'Oreal HIP

Okay....so I am cowashing my hair.... by the way Saturday mornings are great for hair washing... anywho...so far so good.... Although my hair is still wet...I am loving the way that it feels. It feels really soft. The main reason why I wanted to do this co wash is because I re-touched my hair the other day and I wanted to restore moisture. I hope to post some pics later on today after I finish.... BTW I am using Suave JUICY APPLE. It smells DELISH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anywho 2: I haven't exercised in a while and I definitely need to get back on it.... I have slacked off quite a bit. I 've been a member of Curves for nearly a year and have lost about 20 lbs total. WOOT! and I got an elliptical machine recently. I need to get back on it! I feel so much better when I exercise and eat right but sometimes....I just get way off track. If you have a Curves in your area and you are looking for a great place to work out and only want to be there 30 minutes...give them a try I actually love the environment.

Anywho 3: CVS has BOGO Free on HIP Products... Definitely more bang for your buck... I love these shadows. They have great color payoff and they are INEXPENSIVE.

Deluxe Palette Review, Co washing, hmmmm

If you have not tried Urban Decay's Deluxe Palette, you don't know what you are missing... I loveeeeeee it! It doesn't leave my counter....I have been using it since I got it. The neutral colors are the bomb!!! (How old is the bomb?) lmbo...Anywho.... if you are looking for great shadows and want more bang for your buck, look no more! 2 snaps and a clap for this one!
  • It has great color payoff
  • Great neutral colors as well as bright fun ones
  • Packaging is great too! Velvet with silver mesh on front....
  • 5 out of 5: I'm lovin it!

Anywho, on another note. I think that I am going to co wash my hair this weekend. I have never tried it... For those who don't know what co washing is...It's washing your hair with conditioner. I heard it yields moisture to the strands and makes it softer. I'm hoping mine feels like silk afterwards... lmbo... I will keep you all posted on the outcome. Oh and I heard that you should do it with something inexpensive like VO5.... If you know anything about co washing or you've done it before let me know how it turned out. Talk to ya lata! Bye!!!!!!!

Hello Kitty Lippies

So, I got three products from the hello kitty line. I got the sweet strawberry lip glass; middle pic last gloss. It is a very sheer pink with a hint of glitter; it's okay...definitely nice if you want a high shine gloss. It will also give lips a slight pink tint. I got fast friends, the bright purple, last pic, last gloss; it is not hot purple when you put it on though, which is really great for me. It too has a hint of glitter; it's nice. Finally, I got the light purple lipstick, fashion mews. I really like it. It's not outrageous, very subtle....It's definitely a keeper. The over all line was just okay. My rating is a 2.5 out of 4. Remember this is just my opinion.... You all let me know what you think...puleeze..... I am really wanting you all to post your opinions of some things.

Motions Oil Sheen

My sister recently told me that she is now using Motions Oil Sheen. I too decided to try it. It's pretty good. It is not heavy at all. It has an odd smell though. I give it a 3 out of 4.

Beautiful Lengths

The shampoo and conditioner that I have begun to use more recently is Pantene Beautiful Lengths. It's really great! Less breakage and great feeling hair afterwards! 4 out of 4!

My Fav Hair Products

So...one of my good friends asked me what products I have been using lately.... So, here they are. I loveeeee Mizani Shyne Bodifying Sheen; it's not too heavy, in fact, it is a very light formula. I've been using it since 2002 or 2003. So, you can probably tell that I live by this stuff. Tresemme' Tres Two Ultra Fine Mist Hair Spray is next on the list. It is not sticky at all...that's what I really love about this product. Before curling my hair, I use the next two products: Tresemme' No Frizz Ultra Light Shine Spray and Motions Heat Seeker Protecting Spray. I love both of these too. I'm always looking for something that is extra light, because I don't want it to weigh my hair down. Finally, there is Biosilk Silk Therapy, which is kinda pricey, but a great product; it gives your hair great shine without making it heavy. So, once again I am lovin these products! I give all of them two thumbs up!

Hello Kitty ???????????

Okay, when I first heard about the Hello Kitty line that comes out today, I was stoked.... Now I'm just like....whatever.... Of course, I am going to check it out, but I doubt that I will buy anything...

MAC 109 brush and Dream Matte Mousse

Just a quick note... I recently bought the 109 MAC brush.... Don't tell me how late I am. I already know...:o) anywho.... I love this brush. If you have not tried it with Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline you do not know what you are missing..... I've tried Dream Matte Mousse before... but in combination with the 109. Pure excellence....
